The island's zones, municipality by municipality

Grouped under the seven municipalities of the island, here are the areas of Lanzarote with taxi service. Opening a link shows the dispatch for that locality and, in most cases, its signposted ranks plus the run to the airport with journey time and an indicative price where a published source exists; undecided? begin with the place you will be leaving from.

Legend Taxi rank Radio-taxi dispatch

Picking the right zone

The service is not the same everywhere. The resort centres hold the fixed ranks and the cars running around, while in the smaller villages the usual answer is to ring the dispatch and wait for a vehicle to be sent. Find out which municipality your accommodation sits in and start from there: the island is small, but the waiting times are not handed out evenly.

Each municipality has its own dispatch

Lanzarote has seven municipalities and each answers through its own radio-taxi dispatch. The number that works in one village is therefore no use in the next, which is why the portal's phone guide groups the dispatches by municipality instead of printing one long list with no context attached. Ring the one you are setting off from and you avoid being passed around.

The map with every rank on it

The map on this page draws the municipalities, the zones and the taxi ranks confirmed on OpenStreetMap. It is the fastest way of seeing whether a rank sits within walking distance of your accommodation, or whether ringing makes more sense. With the script switched off the same information is still here as a list: nothing you read depends on the map ever being drawn.

Frequently asked questions

Will I find a signposted rank anywhere I go?

Not everywhere. Fixed ranks gather in the town centres, the larger hotels and the beaches; the smaller villages usually have none. Where there is no rank, the usual route is to ring the municipality's dispatch or ask at your accommodation.

Might a dispatch from another zone come and collect me?

Not usually: each dispatch covers its own municipality, so the normal thing is to ring the one for the place you are setting off from. The exceptions are the airport and the port of Arrecife, declared sensitive areas in July 2026, where the Cabildo can activate reinforcements with taxis from other municipalities. Keep the phone guide to hand, because each municipality has its own and the portal does not book journeys for you. From Ireland, dial 0034, Spain's international dialling code, before the number.
