How to choose your zone

Not every zone has the same service. The resort centres concentrate fixed ranks and circulating cars, while in the smaller villages the usual answer is to ring the dispatch and wait for a vehicle to be sent. Look up which municipality your accommodation is in and choose the zone from there: the island is small, but waiting times are not shared out equally.

One dispatch per municipality

Lanzarote has seven municipalities and each answers through its own radio-taxi dispatch. That is why the number that works in one village is not the next one's, and why the portal's phone guide groups the dispatches by municipality instead of publishing a single list with no context. Ringing the one you are setting off from saves you being passed on.

The map of ranks

The map on this page draws the island's municipalities, zones and taxi ranks confirmed on OpenStreetMap. It is the quickest way to see whether there is a rank within walking distance of your accommodation or whether ringing makes more sense. With the script switched off the same information is still here as a list: nothing you read depends on the map ever being drawn.

Frequently asked questions

Does every zone have a marked rank?

No. Fixed ranks concentrate in the town centres, the larger hotels and the beaches; the smaller villages usually have none. Where there is no rank, the usual route is to ring the municipality's dispatch or ask at your accommodation.

Can I ring a dispatch in another zone?

Not usually: each dispatch covers its own municipality, so the normal thing is to ring the one for the place you are setting off from. The exceptions are the airport and the port of Arrecife, declared sensitive areas in July 2026, where the Cabildo can activate reinforcements with taxis from other municipalities. Keep the phone guide to hand, because each municipality has its own and the portal does not book journeys for you.
