Taxi services in Lanzarote

A taxi on the island is not only the journey from point A to point B: there are higher-capacity vehicles, adapted vehicles and services you ask for in advance. Here is the index of the six we cover, with an idea of each so you can go straight to the one you need. This portal is informational: it contracts and books none of them.

Services

What you can ask a taxi for in Lanzarote, and what sets each service apart.

Groups, luggage and adapted vehicles

If several of you are travelling, or you have more luggage than fits in an ordinary car, the answer is usually an eight-seat taxi or a larger vehicle. The groups page explains how many people and cases really fit and how to ask for the right vehicle; the adapted and reduced mobility page sets out what to ask for when you call and what to say before the car sets off.

Night arrivals and disembarkations

The night service page covers departures in the early hours and the second fare that applies at those times, with the notices it is worth leaving the evening before. The port and cruise page covers landing in Arrecife: where the taxi rank is, what happens when several calls coincide and how the transfer to your accommodation is organised.

Sightseeing tours and events

Sightseeing tours are half-day or full-day circuits agreed with the driver before you set off, with stops at the island's places of interest. The events page covers weddings, celebrations and groups needing several vehicles at the same hour: how they are prepared, what information is needed and how far ahead to ask.

Frequently asked questions

Does this portal book any of these services?

No. Lanzarote.taxi is an informational portal: it takes no payments, confirms no places, has no agreement with any taxi company and charges no commission. Each service is requested directly from the dispatch of the relevant municipality.

How far ahead do I need to ask for a special service?

For an ordinary journey, not at all. For groups, adapted vehicles, night departures or several cars at the same hour, it pays to give notice in good time: the fleet of each municipality is limited and it fills up early on public holidays.
