Taxi for weddings, events and groups

A wedding, a first communion or a company dinner is planned weeks ahead, and at a certain time everyone has to be in the same place. The taxis for that night do not appear on their own: they are ordered with a date, a time and a clear pick-up point. These are the things worth settling beforehand.

Several vehicles at the same time

For groups that will not fit in one car, several taxis are ordered one after the other, and that only works if the dispatch knows how many are needed, at what time and where. Write the list before you call: number of people, age range, pick-up point and departure time. One notice with all the data is worth more than five separate calls.

The pick-up point matters

A wedding usually has a doorway, a narrow car park and a decorated street. Point to a spot with room for the cars to come and go, and put someone you trust there, because the driver does not know the place and cannot stop in the middle of the road. If the event is out in the country, say that the access is unpaved.

Notice and confirmation

Events are ordered days ahead and confirmed the day before. In summer, on bank holidays and at wedding weekends, demand rises at the same time across every point of the island, and whoever leaves their notice late finds the fleet already committed to other celebrations.

Changes and setbacks

The event runs late, someone arrives after the planned time, the dinner ends earlier or later than expected. Tell the dispatch about the change as soon as you know, rather than assuming the car will still be waiting: the driver may have another job on the next shift. For the return in the early hours, order the taxi before the party ends.

Frequently asked questions

Does this site coordinate the taxis for my event?

No. Lanzarote.taxi is informational and organises no transport: it books no vehicles, charges nothing for it and has agreements with no companies or drivers. Coordination is done directly with the dispatch of the municipality where the event takes place.

Can I order several taxis for the same time?

Yes, that is normal at weddings and for large groups. Say so when you call, with the number of vehicles needed and the pick-up point; the dispatch will confirm how many can be covered and will tell you if any part does not fit the available fleet.

What happens if the party goes on into the early hours?

Nothing, as long as you give notice. Beyond a certain time the night fare applies, so ask about it if you expect the evening to run late; and order the return before it ends, not when there is nobody left in the queue.
