Taxi at Lanzarote airport
César Manrique-Lanzarote airport (ACE) is a few kilometres from Arrecife and is the point of entry for almost every traveller. The taxi rank is in front of the arrivals terminal, and there is no need to book: you take the first in the official queue.
Where the rank is
On leaving the arrivals terminal, the signposted taxi rank is in the pick-up lane immediately outside. There is an orderly queue and staff managing boarding at peak times. Drivers are not permitted to offer their services inside the hall.
The airport supplement
Any journey starting or ending within the airport enclosure adds the supplement shown in the table of official fares. That is why a short trip from ACE costs more than the same distance inside the town: it is not a charge per passenger but per service.
There is no need to book
The queue at the rank is the system provided for. It is only worth giving notice in advance if you are travelling with a great deal of luggage, with a group that will not fit in an ordinary vehicle, or if your flight lands in the small hours and you want it assured. In those cases the notice goes to the dispatch of the destination municipality.
