Booking a taxi in Lanzarote
This site does not book taxis: it is information. What you will find here is who to call, how far ahead it is worth giving notice and what to ask before you consider a transfer settled. The booking is made directly with the dispatch of each municipality.
Which dispatch to call
There is no single number for the island. Each municipality has its own, and another municipality's number will not come and collect you where you are. The rule is simple: call the dispatch of the place you are leaving, not the place you are going to.
How far ahead to give notice
For an ordinary journey, half an hour is usually enough. For leaving in the small hours for the airport, the advice is to warn the night before and confirm in the morning. In August and on long weekends the fleet is stretched, and giving notice with more margin changes the outcome.
What to ask before you hang up
Three things: whether the price is on the meter or a fixed sum, whether the vehicle takes the number of cases you are bringing, and whether I.G.I.C. and the public holiday surcharges are included in the figure they give you. Having those three questions answered first avoids the argument on arrival.
Frequently asked questions
Does this website book taxis for me? +
No. Lanzarote.taxi is an informational portal and brokers no service. It takes no payments, confirms no places and has no agreement with any taxi company. The booking is made by calling the dispatch of the municipality directly.
Can I book with less than three hours' notice? +
Some operators do not confirm immediate bookings and direct you to the phone for instant service. If you need a taxi in the next few minutes, call rather than fill in any form.
