Taxi prices in Lanzarote

There is one official figure and many estimates, and it pays not to confuse them. The official one is the meter, calculated with the fares approved and published by Aena for César Manrique airport. Everything else — the route prices circulating online — is indicative.

Operator prices published without the Canary Islands indirect tax or the Sunday and holiday increase that some operators apply. The meter is the only binding figure.

Indicative distances and times: island traffic changes them at any hour.

The official fare, broken down

The table above reproduces exactly what Aena publishes for the airport: the minimum charged when the meter goes on, the amount per kilometre, the waiting time, the radio-taxi supplement and the one for starting or ending within the airport or port enclosure. Any journey on the island is calculated from that base.

When the fare goes up

In the early hours, on Sundays and on public holidays the second fare applies, with a higher minimum and a higher price per kilometre than on working days. Over the Christmas period the minimum rises still further, in the window that the fare itself defines. It is not a discretionary charge by the driver: it is published.

The price per journey is always an estimate

The prices published for specific routes are operators' figures, taken from their published fares and carrying the date they were checked. They may not include the Canary Islands indirect tax or the Sunday and public holiday increase that some apply. Before you get in, the only binding figure is the one the meter shows.

Frequently asked questions

How much is it from Lanzarote airport to Playa Blanca?

It is one of the longest journeys on the island and one of the dearest: you will find its indicative price in the route list, with the date it was checked. The final figure depends on the traffic and the exact route, and the meter confirms it.

Is there a fixed fare for going to the airport?

There is no official fixed fare: the taxi is charged by meter, with the airport-enclosure supplement applied to the journey. Some operators publish fixed prices by destination, but those are their own commercial terms, not a fare set by the authority.
