Taxi from Playa Blanca to Arrecife
Playa Blanca is at the southern tip and Arrecife on the east coast: the journey crosses half the island by road and ends in the capital. Since it neither starts nor finishes inside the airport enclosure, it is a town-to-town journey, with a different dispatch at each end and different habits about ordering one.

Map of Lanzarote
From the southern tip to the capital
The car leaves Playa Blanca, climbs the south road, passes through the municipality of Yaiza and carries on along the coast to Arrecife. The route crosses the volcanic malpaís and changes from holiday landscape to urban landscape at the end. There are no stops planned unless you agree them with the driver when you get in.
Where to catch it in Playa Blanca
There are signposted ranks in the centre and around the port, and hotels will usually call for you if you ask. If you arrive by ferry, come out of the arrivals area and look for the rank; if none is standing, the Yaiza dispatch covers the whole municipality — Playa Blanca, Puerto Calero and the village of Yaiza — and that is where the service is ordered.
When it is worth giving notice
For a pick-up in the middle of the day the rank is enough. It is worth giving notice in advance if you are leaving as a group, if you have large luggage, if your flight leaves in the small hours from Arrecife or if you need an adapted vehicle. Remember that the notice goes to the dispatch of the departure point, not the destination, and that this portal brokers nothing.
The bus and the ferry
There is a bus link between the south and the capital along the coast: it is the cheapest option and works well if you travel light and in no hurry, but it takes a good deal of time and the last service of the day is worth checking. To get around the island during your stay, car hire remains the most practical; the taxi is worth it when you have a time to keep.
Frequently asked questions
Does it cost the same as a journey from the airport? +
Not necessarily. This journey does not touch the airport enclosure, so it adds no airport supplement, but it is much longer than most transfers from the terminal. The indicative figure on the page is there for comparison; what you pay is set by the meter.
Can it pick me up at the hotel door? +
Yes: ask at reception or call the Yaiza dispatch with the exact address. If the hotel is in a development with several entrances, give the full name to avoid waiting at the wrong gate.
Does it work for reaching the bus station or the port? +
Yes, the drop-off is at the point you name when you get in. If you have a connection — bus, ferry or flight — mention it when you order the vehicle: the driver takes the most direct route and avoids delays that would cost you the connection.
Does this website arrange the transfer? +
No. Lanzarote.taxi is an informational portal: it sells no seats, confirms no vehicles and has no agreement with any taxi company in Lanzarote. Everything on this page is there so you arrive at the call prepared.
