Taxis in the palm valley
Set in a green hollow that stands out on a dry island, Haría keeps low houses around a square, and Saturday's market draws the north of Lanzarote to it. Named after its own municipality, it is also the point where runs to Órzola, Arrieta or the beach at Famara begin.

Palms in a hollow in the north
The village gathers at the bottom of the valley, among palms and smallholdings that make what they can of the shade and the damp. You walk round the old quarter in no time, square and church at the middle of it. What is not near are the beaches and the viewpoints — and for the roads up to them, a taxi suits anyone who would rather not spend the day driving up and down the northern road.
Saturday, and the market takes the centre
On Saturday mornings the municipal market fills the centre, stalls and visitors spilling through the streets. Parking near it is awkward and the traffic stays that way until it shuts. Going down by taxi and collecting the car after is the comfortable way of doing it — and because it is the busiest day, tell the dispatch before you leave the house rather than once the shopping is in your hands.
The rank, and the number that covers everything
There is a signposted rank at the central points of the village, though not on every street and not on the tracks leading out to the beaches. One number covers the whole municipality — the village, Órzola, Arrieta and Famara — so the Haría dispatch is the contact for almost any trip you make in the north.
The opposite end of the island
The terminal lies as far from Haría as Lanzarote gets: the car crosses the interior and then climbs to the northern side, which makes this one of the longer runs. Arriving with cases or in a group, say so when you order the vehicle, so that a car with a boot big enough comes to meet you.
Frequently asked questions
When is the market on? +
Saturday mornings, in the middle of the village. It is the busiest day and the one with the fewest places to park: if you plan to go, order the taxi beforehand and settle the run back down to the coast as well.
Is there a rank in the village itself? +
At the central points, yes — but not on the roads out to the beaches and not at every exit. If no car is in sight, ring the Haría dispatch, which covers the whole municipality, or ask at your accommodation. This portal takes no bookings.
Can I use Haría as a base for Órzola and Famara? +
You can. The village is the centre of the municipality, and the runs to the port, the coast and the beach all start from here. They follow northern roads with few places between: ask for the vehicle with time to spare and confirm the exact address for pick-up.
How do I get back to the terminal from the north? +
Ring the Haría dispatch a good few hours ahead. It is one of the longer journeys on the island, so leave a margin against your flight time; the figure shown here is a road estimate with a date on it, not a promised duration.
